Chelsea trained with Kent Lyman at Meredith College (class of 2011) for her undergraduate work in piano performance and pedagogy. She has performed solo and collaborative works in NC, OK, AR, and abroad. She has taught a range of ages, skill levels, and styles. As a music teacher, Chelsea places a priority on being flexible, patient, and enthusiastic. She is dedicated to making sure you or your child genuinely enjoys the process of learning music. Chelsea specializes in helping you select or customize a curriculum to focus on your specific musical goals and that will reflect your specific needs.
Additionally, Chelsea maintains an active performing career in her community. Whether serving as the pianist for the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra, accompanying musical theater productions, or performing at the Oklahoma Haydn Festival, Chelsea is always putting her music to work. |
Chelsea Waddelow, MMT, MT-BC is a board-certified music therapist with a masters in music therapy from Appalachian State University. Chelsea interned with Children's Mercy Hospitals and served as Caldwell County Schools' music therapist prior to relocating to the Triangle. She has experience with children, adolescents, and young adults with disabilities and mild to severe medical conditions in school, home, and hospital settings. Her approach to music therapy is client-driven and often involves improvised music.
